Roots - Reserva de mesa

Visited Roots yesterday with friends to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Initially apprehensive because of the set menu and wine package as I’m rather traditional with my food choices and I don’t drink wine. I needn’t have been so concerned. With the exception of the mains and dessert I had never tried the combination of foods presented to me and I would never order them from a menu. Of the eight courses served I thoroughly enjoyed seven of them. Some of the tastiest food that I have ever had. The only course I didn’t particularly enjoy was the goats cheese purely down to personal taste, my wife loved it however. Each course was served with a wine to compliment the dish. We had a fantastic evening celebrating our anniversary on Saturday night. As someone who has previously been a picky eater, I usually find set menus to be a bit of a gamble, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed everything. I even discovered that I like beetroot for the first time! The sea bass was exquisite, and every dish paired perfectly with the drinks, which included autumn-style prosecco, golden IPA, fresh rosé, a full-bodied red, a subtle dessert wine, and a deliciously rich coffee to finish. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend that everyone visits to experience the quality for themselves! Great job, Matt; keep it up!
