We stayed one night here in a mixed dormitory (no beds, just a long mattress with duvets laid out in a row , and an outdoor bathroom (cold water only, and no walls!! and loo with just THE best view in the world. We arrived a little late for supper but were greeted with such a warm welcome by Irene Talak, and all the other guests were very friendly too even though they had all waited as we all ate our supper together. The food (both supper and breakfast was very good and nourishing, and all you needed after/before a good hike in the mountains. The evening's entertainment was watching a magical sunset and amazing clouds over the mountains, but the best bit of all was waking up to that stunning...
Let's be honest: the shelter itself is quite average. Very friendly service in deed, even when the shelter keeper had obviously a lot of work due to the fact that we came on a sunny winter Sunday, but the place is nothing special, actually. So I would go for a 3 star rating, but folks, that view is just unbeatable. You sit there right in front of Eiger, Mönch Jungfrau, the three iconic summits of the Bernese Oberland. So 4 stars it is, as you won't forget that view!
Imagen a hut on 2000 meters where all sort of people arrive on any moment of the day. Where people can spent a night or 2 or more. As a Ward you want only one thing... that your gast feel welcome. Irene and Talak work together with there team to give you a feeling of hospetality with 5 stars. Thanks you!
