Safeway Capilano Shopping Centre

I go here because its close to my house and its not walmart. Its the ridiculous amount of people ambushing you at the exit doors for donations, asking you to buy cookies or straight up just people begging for money. I watched a guy beg for money so he could buy diapers for his kids. I saw the same guy the next week pull up in a Cadillac CTS, get out with his sign and go stand at the door. At this store after youre done your shopping youll be ambushed by Scammers, bums, charities or girl scouts. People who set up outside of exit doors in stores should give their heads a shake. I understand the need for charity and all that stuff, im gonna sound like a grinch here but i dont care. There are so...

I like the atmosphere/ambiance better at Safeway than at other places like Walmart or Superstore. This may not seem significant to some people, but Safeway’s incandescent lighting just makes me feel more calm and at ease. One downside is that Safeway can be more expensive than other grocery stores, but they do have things on sale from time to time that compete with Walmart. Sometimes an item on sale at Safeway is the same price as, or cheaper than, Walmart. My family members often come home with expired products. Old items tend to stay on the shelves. CHECK THE EXPIRY DATES VIGILANTLY.

I would rate a 0 if I could. Witnessed an indigenous lady being belittled by the Manager named Adam. Telling her she was loitering, taking too long in the store going from one aisle to the next. She explained she didn’t have her glasses so it was taking longer than usual. She then went on to pay for what she had. All this was said in front of customers. Very unacceptable and unprofessional!!!

In the store the other day, employee Arnie in the produce section was very helpful and very friendly and had a great knowledge educating me on produce. Nice to have had the time, keep up the great work. I do believe the gentleman is a fairly new employee at the this store.

I find this location is usually very clean and the shelves stay well stocked. I wish the had a slightly larger international section but other than that it is a pretty reliable grocery store.

Wow! Haven't been here in a couple of years! The renovations are awesome. The meat counter has a great variety of items. Will definitely make this Safeway a go-to for now on.

Haven't been there in years. I got just a couple things so in and out. What stood out the most was the Christmas singing florist....very nice added touch...

It's a grocery store, a Safeway. Nothing special, nothing awful. Quieter than Bonnie Doon, not as well equipped or stocked as the Oliver Square location

Shelves always well stocked and every thing on the shelf has a price on it.lots of staff around if you need help.

Prices are always a bit high at Safeway. Not many good deals but it's clean and organized very well.
