First time ever that I give 5 stars to an Italian restaurant in NYC! I am Italian and I know well how the vast majority of Italian restaurants are not true Italian. Great Italian spot — equally good to just pop by if you're in the neighborhood or for a special occasion. We ordered the coppa and figs (non-negotiable), olives (sweet and briny), fried artichoke (perfectly cooked and with a flavorful cream) and the radicchio salad (bitter contrasted nicely with the sweetness) for apps. We ate here twice on our visit from Alabama. Nicole was our waitress, and remembered us the second time…and actually remembered what we ordered. We were so impressed with the food, the service and the ambiance. We will put this restaurant top of our list next time we visit! There is also gluten free options!! The kind service needs to be recognized immediately. They are awesome and helpful. Their selection of Italian groceries for a charcuterie board is fantastic. At least stop by and get some of their bread. Wow
Insalata caprese is the Italian mozzarella salad, nothing too special but not bad. Gnocchi is very chewy and savory, a little too salty. Rigatoni alla campidanese is the best one, it tastes really good.
I went as part of a large party, and our service was excellent. Our server was friendly helpful efficient. We had appetizers, salads, entrees, desserts and it was all a joy to my tongue.
Food: 1/10 Service: 4/10 Experience: 1/10 Not recommended at all! There's nothing Italian about this place. The pasta was swimming in pesto! Both pasta tasted horrible!
