This restaurant has really declined in quality. I used to visit regularly, but I stopped after a few disappointing meals. I decided to give it another try last night, and unfortunately, it was even worse than before. The yam roll was burnt, the veggie roll had a strong taste of cleaning products, and the deep-fried dynamite roll was excessively spicy—not how it’s supposed to be. I’m truly disappointed. If you happen to be here, take a moment to look at the ceiling above the register—it's quite unclean and looks like it could easily drop into your food. This restaurant is decent, but overall, the sushi in Parksville averages around 3 stars. I hate to say it, but anyone giving it a 5-star rating doesn’t seem to have a true appreciation for sushi. The food is tasty, but the nigiri portions are quite small for the price. The dynamite roll is flavorful, though a bit loose and messy. The service was friendly. If you're looking for better sushi, I suggest going to Nanaimo, but if you don't feel like driving, this place is a reasonable choice.
Extremely disappointing service! They claim to be fast, but that’s far from the reality. I ordered takeout in the first week of May, and they informed me it would take an hour. I decided to wait, but after 1.25 hours, we finally received our hastily prepared meal—complete with no utensils or napkins. They used to be good, but not anymore. It's worth the drive to Nanaimo for quicker service. Food rating: 2/5.
Wow! Last night, we ordered a party tray from Samurai Sushi, and it was outstanding. The presentation was beautiful, and the sushi was incredibly fresh. The spicy scallop roll stood out as especially tasty. The rolls and nigiri here are larger than at other sushi restaurants in Parksville, offering great value. Fantastic sushi spot in Parksville! The ambiance is relaxed, and there's plenty of parking available. The staff are very friendly. You order at the counter and then can look forward to your meal. The presentation is stunning, but if you enjoy wasabi, be sure to request extra. Overall, a delicious dining experience. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience! I ordered takeout for lunch, and the Unagi Nigiri was excellent. The spicy tuna roll was large and absolutely delicious, and the spicy scallop chop chop was also quite sizable and incredibly tasty! This was a wonderful first visit; the portion sizes are impressive!
