Ok, so I was looking for a nearby diner to eat with friends. We planned to meet at the Ardsley Diner and as we were walking in, Sazan caught our eyes. We all looked at each other and turned right around and walked into Sazan. The first thing I noticed was that the sushi bar was staffed traditionally and the tables felt like a traditional Japanese restaurant. We knew we went to the right place. They had a separate sake menu. Another bonus. I had the sushi and sashimi combo which included scallop sushi. Very nice touch. The fish was perfect in quality, texture and taste. We have been eating here for more than a decade, tolerating the unwelcoming staff, depressing decor high prices because the sushi is of high quality. But last night was the final straw. The rude server/hostess reluctantly seated my wife and me at the empty sushi bar after warning us we would now have to pay a minimum of $85 per person. No problem. But after ordering drinks and appetizers, more new rules were revealed to us: the $85 minimum is for sushi only and does not include our drinks or appetizers or any other food, including (inexplicably) sashimi. I have been eating here for more than 20 years, traveling from The Bronx by bus or car to get here. The food and drinks have always been above par (Okay, sensational actually! . I originally started going here because of their sake selections, but their voluminous menu of appetizers, specials and main dishes is incomparable and if you're daring enough, they have their extra-special Japanese menu! I'm sorry for anyone who thinks they are too expensive, but this is NOT gas station sushi, as one super-obnoxious reviewer (who shall, deservedly so, remain nameless on another site stated so snidely, but that is the price you pay for freshly, cleanly prepared excellence!
Real authentic Japanese. Exquisite and delicate flavors that challenge any outstanding sushi or udon I’ve had in the city. Our family’s absolute favorite in Westchester county. We have enjoyed the Omakase more than once on special occasions and it is AMAZING. Sazan has been the best Japanese restaurant in the area for a long time. Unique daily special appetizer menu often has treats I've never seen before. Huge small plates menu. Nice lunch bento box with different mains every week. I'm looking forward to pork cutlet with egg for lunch next week!

i used to love this place but the last three times I've ordered take out, I've gotten the wrong order
After the Corona disaster, the lunch prices have gone up and the service is not so good!
