He 's back!!!!!! After a bit of a hiatus where he went back to Japan, Shige is back and the cuisine is as good as ever. You know it 's going to be good when Tetsuya wants traditional Japanese food he heads over to have a bit of Shige-San 's culinary magic. He 's one of the best sashimi chefs around, up there with the guys from Sushi E in Sydney. Shige goes to the trouble of always getting the whole fish so that he can prepare it properly. I know a lot a 'Japanese ' restaurants, especially those run by non-Japanese, which buy their sashimi pre-filleted...it 's not the same. This place serves the freshest sashimi! I would say this is one of the most authentic Japanese restaurants in Perth. You feel like you step in to little Tokyo once you are inside the restaurants. The owners are friendly and welcoming. The grilled squid and matcha cheesecake are one of my favorites! Oh and don't forget the sake ;
Thoroughly enjoyed the food snd service at this delightful restaurant. The sashimi was perfect as fresh as could be! Pork cutlet was soft and soooo delicious. Beef and reef was also great. Highly recommended this restaurant. It's not a cheap eat but well worth the money spent!
lovely lady at the counter gave suggestions and what to pick as I was clueless bad their daily specials in seafood with rice. was excellent and good meal on my first night in Perth after a long day with some sparkling wine in my hotel room as I took a take away

We always enjoy the fresh seafood available in this restaurant !<br/ We like the fact that the owner which is also the main chef is in front and preparing the sushi and sashimi in front of !<br/ Nice family run restaurant!<br/
Went here for dinner after flying in from Sydney. Japanese operated, great service. I had miso, scallops and sushi. All great, very true Japanese flavours. Would definitely go back and either have the same or try other things
Very authentic Japanese food. Waiting time is reasonable. Had the catch of the day and was yummy. The deep fried miso egg plants and tofu were well cooked and delicious. Would come here again for sure.<br/ <br/
Love love love Shige. Best rice and miso, fish is always fresh, good options for drinks. Could be open on Sundays. Dinner on weekdays are great but book in advance, just in case.

Have been going to Shige for years then they reopened in east perth. Amazong service and delicious food. Never disappointed when I go there for dinner.
Always a great quality of fresh seafood when we come here. Highly reccomended !!
