Terrible visit. Theywere nice at first. I arrived no reservation at 4.15 pm. Very early and I said I 'd wait but they seated me anyway. The older man/ owner waited on me ...he was nice. We crossed wires when I requested if the music be turned down just a touch. He then lowered it almost to nothing. I have autistic spectrum issues.i wear ear defenders and wax earplugs. I know I am different and I can handle some music. I am careful and go to dine outside busy hours. I don 't ride the bus between 4-6 because too many people and too noisy. Anyway I spoke to older man again after my main meal, when he was clearing away.... to express I like the music I just wishing/enquiring if it could be turne...
First time visiting here and we got a takeaway which we collected as we passed through town. Saturday evening. Restaurant was empty. 3 poppadoms and dips, 2 curries, one pilau rice and a garlic naan for £29. Seemed a touch expensive considering the quality. Price would have been okay if the food was very good. It was ready in 20 mins from ordering. The pilau rice was nice and the chicken in both curries was good. However, unusually, the poppadoms were folded into quarters and had gone a bit soft. The dips were fine. The curry sauce for my madras was okay, but a little watery. The tikka marsala sauce was hard to describe; very bland and with too much added cream, making it very light red/pink...
Really bad experience, we used to frequent often and then changed to another local. Tried this place again. What a let down, food took 2.5 hours to arrive from point of ordering, we were told this was because the traffic was bad. We live 2 miles away! I could have walked back and forth twice in that time! Needless to say food arrived cold, lamb was chewy and inedible, chicken dish very poor also and not to the menu description at all. Naan bread was over-cooked and really oily. No apology given, what a joke! Trust me go elsewhere, you can get a much better Indian meal from Meadowbank area!
Not good food. Barely edible curry and expensive. The place was empty and for good reason. Naan bread double the price of other restaurants.my trip advice is to dodge this place as the curry tastes like it came from an uncle bens jar. Not good food.should have went elsewhere.

Four of us had a great time at the Shish. The food was excellent, as was the first class and friendly service. All the usual favourites on the menu, but well worth exploring the chef's special dishes. They are really yummy. Highly recommend a visit.
Collected a takeaway from her and was disappointed. The Lamb Dopiaza was full of green peppers, and over a third of the meat was solid and inedible.Considering the price it was not good value.
Don’t waste your money the food is nothing like it used to be, Quite bland ,small portions and never very hot, The restaurant is also very dirty and quite simply not very good.
takeaway quite expensive now, and just not worth the money. quite bland, after takeaways sits for nearly 30 years the standard and service has dropped to much

Shish this place is excellent Best Indian/Pakistani blend of spice and sauces! Highly recommend Josh Rogan (chicken) and Moglai Channa Gosht (lamb)
Absolutely the best curry in the lothians I dare say Scotland. Phenomenal food and service well worth a visit .narali style curry is exceptional
