We came here briefly on a Saturday evening. The girl at the door was lovely and my husband asked if they were dog and child friendly (she said they were) and we went in. The lady on the bar also was very welcoming. We however were met by a snooty girl at the bar who seemed confused as to why we were there but gave her the benefit of the doubt and sat down. I then asked the same girl if she had a highchair to which she replied “not up here no” and then seemed confused when we left. We had previously been told it was a child friendly place and therefore assumed a highchair as my 18 month old isn’t going to sit in a proper chair. Popped in for a quick bite to eat whilst visiting family and ended up staying all evening!! The bar boasts a large range of local beers and the veggie haggis burger is to die for! We were quickly welcomed by a friendly Aussie woman (we didn't get her name) and although they seemed to be very busy on a Saturday evening, she was able to find us a seat. The large selection of local draughts is ideal for beer lovers and our server Elena was super friendly and had great knowledge to help guide us novices through! Great food, great patter from the staff, and great atmosphere. Truly a lovely restaurant made even better by the friendly staff. We can't wait to come back!
We arrived around 10:30 am on a Sunday after just flying into Scotland and we had some “spare” time before we could check into our B&B. The wait staff was very friendly and welcoming. The food was tasty and we even indulged in some of the delicious desserts. Very good experience for our early Sunday morning needs!
Booked for a Monday night meal after a show at the Festival at the Pleasance, so convenient two minute walk. Great selection of beers. We had Chicken Texas BBQ and Piri Chicken burgers. Delicious, well cooked chips too. Service was faultless.

This was a lovely experience! Great atmosphere, wonderful staff, a really good burger and fabulous wine! Oh and silver service for our dog too. Really accommodating to my daughter who is a wheelchair user. Thank you guys!
I visited The Holyrood 9A with a friend after a night out at the festival. It's quite a big pub with a good range of beers. It has quite a chilled, welcoming atmosphere and I'd definitely visit again.
Ok so I know what you are thinking "another gastro pub" Normally I dislike the term however Holyrood 9a has made me reconsider it.
Food was amazing. Lovely staff. Was recommended by my sisters friend and would gladly pass on the recommendation to others!!

They used to have the best burger in town I particularly loved the Pork & Chorizo burger.
