Anyway, this was my second breakfast visit in a few months, and both times have been equally enjoyable. I arrived on a freezing Sunday morning in late March—ugh, I wish I were back in Florida! The place was almost empty at 8:30 AM, so we kept it simple. I ordered a hot and fresh Western omelet with hashbrowns and rye toast, which was delicious. The eggs were perfectly soft, and I had Taylor ham on the side, along with fries, white toast, and gravy for the fries. It may sound basic, but so many places overlook those little requests. This was my first time at State Street Grill, and I'm really glad my daughter recommended it. Our server, Christopher, was warm, friendly, and professional—truly great! The restaurant's decor has an industrial/modern vibe that I found really appealing. Now, let’s talk about the food—it was fantastic! My daughter ordered the French onion soup and chicken Francese, and she said it was excellent. I personally went for the Napoleon French toast, paired with eggs over easy and turkey bacon. Everything was served hot and fresh.
First visit and the food was okay. Sliders were okay but could've used some cheese. Or a side of sauce. Onions were tasty. Jack Daniel was delicious. The Tropicolada drink was good although missing pineapples and cherries. Monte Cristo....hmm...not the typical Monte Cristo... wasn't fried...more of an open faced sandwich, missing powdered sugar and raspberry sauce. Dessert was great...ice cream with sprinkles. Service was good considering the waiter was new. Quiet environment...very chill ambiance.
Last week, I went to the State Street Diner and I was about to write a negative review, but that changed thanks to a wonderful young lady named Simone (I hope I got her name right—my apologies if I didn't). She noticed my frustration with my waitress, stepped in to address the issue, and brought out my food accurately and quickly. I believe some of the staff could learn a lot from her example.

Stop here on a rainy Friday afternoon .the Service and staff were very friendly and attentive. They have a 24 hour breakfast menu and I wide variety other food items. We ordered a Colorado omelette and a Jack Daniels burger. Both were very delicious and very large portion of enjoyed our experiences. You should give it a try.
I come here so often that I'm surprised I haven't reviewed it before. Typical jack of all trades diner. I usually get a wrap, salad, or sandwich that come out pretty well. Prices and portions are reasonable. Small free parking lot available right in front.
The food was great and everyone was very nice. We especially enjoyed our waiter James. He was funny and attentive to us even though he had a big party come in after us that he had to take care of. I would definitely go there again when I am in the area.
Too many good diners in Northern NJ. Wouldn't waste time here. Service was terrible and it was NOT busy on a random Tuesday for brunch. Food was not good either. The Eggs Benedict here was awful.

Just finished up breakfast with friends at state street. Our waiter James was incredible! Great service and great food. Would recommend!
