Steak Barn - Reservar una mesa

A St Andrews staple. When friends or family ask me for recommendations in St Andrews, Balgove Larder is always at the top of my list! First of all, it is quite literally 'farm to table '. The indoor restaurant/cafe and steak barn look onto sheep and cows. The steak barn is infamous for their delicious burgers and truffle fries. I don 't think they have a full bar, but they do serve beer, wine and bottled Eden Mill cocktails. They do a lovely cheese board that is a great starter for the table. What makes Balgove Larder incredibly special is the fact that everything is locally sourced from all over Scotland. They have an adorable shop where you can buy cheeses, meats, jams, soaps and so much more. I could go on and on about what this place has to offer, but words just don 't do it justice. Here are some of my tips for a perfect day at Balgove: 1. If possible, choose a sunny day to go for the best experience. 2. Once again if the weather permits, do not take a taxi there! Instead enjoy a lovely walk along the golf course. I believe it is about 15 minutes from North street. 3. Make sure the steak barn is open, I know their hours can be a bit iffy sometimes. 4. If you plan on exploring the grounds do not wear shoes you value! It can be pretty muddy. Enjoy your visit!

with james lothian (head metzger) a knife pointed the master class. it was absolutely fantastic and I can do it for anyone interested in the right sharpness of the knife. he went through several systems of sharpness with stones, both freehand and guided. explained the proper use of stones, steels and techniques. he was more than happy to answer any question about technology and technology of sound and sharpen. a brilliant session worth money.

great place to eat and a large farm shop with many beautiful local products. we had a late lunch with great suppe and probably the best cheesesweet ever the eating looks fantastic and everyone I know recommends this place. beautiful staff and a clean and safe atmosphere. we bought some meat in the butcher shop and the metzger were very helpful with kochtipps. will definitely be back. I hear eating in the steak barn is excellent

I had a nice lunch today. my lover friend had walisische rarebit, which looked great and cajun huhn focaccia was delish. was in the steak barn the other week, but it gets a solid 5 stars. great eating, atmosphere, happy staff
