Four of us came up to Winnipeg from North Dakota to go to the Lumineers concert and a person in the row in front of us had struck up conversation with us and suggested we go to Stella's for breakfast. We were staying downtown but decided to check out the location in St. Boniface for a change in atmosphere as none of us had been to the French ward before. The look/location of the building was not quite what we had expected, but the inside was very charming. I have a hard time rating this location as I really like Stella's and would return, but probably to a different location. I've been eating at Stella's (Osborne, Plug-in and Sherbrook) for quite awhile. Their menu is great, especially if you need gluten-free, vegetarian or vegan options or just like eating breakfast all day.At this location, the service can take a long time and Sunday brunch is usually really packed. I've had to wait awhile for a sandwich at supper only to have the server tell us they made it with cheese (when I'd asked for none) and would have to even wait longer for another. A year ago, my bf and I visited this Stella's location for a cousins' lunch. The place was newly opened and some aspects of the meal left could have been better.We returned with a different family group this summer, and were impressed and pleased with the experience. We actually hadn't planned on visiting Stella's, as we were in Lorette for a wedding, and had checked out a place close to the church, but it wasn't open for lunch. Alright, so let me start off by saying I've been here a few (like 40) times and the service is always okay, but never like anything too amazing. (But the burgers are bomb). Anyways, tonight a coworker and I stopped in for some snacks cause yenno, hungry and we were blessed with the angel Pam as our server. Not only did she welcome how indecisive I was she played along and didn't make me feel bad. She was so funny and made my experience a million times better, I called her Pan and we exchanged monolog from the stepbrothers scene, like the Pan/Pamn debate. Basically Pam was the best server I've had anywhere period, please hold on to this sweet angel.

Attending an event in the theatre we thought we would eat here to only park once. Weren't sure what to expect after reading some of the reviews. In general we were satisfied with our meals although my linguini pasta in cream sauce did not have any sauce. Salmon burger had a nice large piece of salmon. The salmon en croute came with pesto sauce- I would think something with more tang would be more appropriate. The restaurant is large and open so you can see into the kitchen but the tables are placed at angles making it difficult for staff to move around. Lots of levels get coming in through the windows. Large size portions. Reasonable prices.
I am giving this visit a average rating, the service was good and the food was tasty , however the portions were irresponsible, I'm a big guy and enjoy a heart breakfast , I took home a doggy bag .. I like everyone enjoy a good deal however not at the potential failure of a business, all the plates coming out of the kitchen were like this over portioned ... I have worked in the food services industry from the ground up as well as an Operations Manager for a FS chain , I hope that someone is monitoring the food cost s of that location closely as the p[portions were easily 30% larger than any other location ..
Met a friend for lunch, convenient location, parking can be tricky at lunch time. Menu offers a lot of great options, many very healthy! Hard to decide. I had the guacamole BLT which was delicious and a perfect size, not giant nor difficult to eat! It was a tasty combination. The house salad is also very delicious, lots of onions though, which I had requested to serve without. Pleasant lunch spot.
