Stephenson's Market Plaice

had the pleasure to try stephenson's market plaice yesterday. we enjoyed it so much that we wanted to leave a review as soon as possible. they have the opportunity to take away or eat. we ate in the restaurant in the upper floor, which is beautifully decorated and very clean. the young man who served us was friendly and polite. our drinks and eating came fast and looked amazing. two of my party went for traditional cod chips, with me went for the 'whopper' size. there is a big difference, so if you want to get the big size, make sure you have a place! overall we couldn't rate this restaurant high enough. next time we're in the opposite, we'll return.

I've been waiting a long time to again enjoy the lovely fish and chips from the Market Plaice. As always the fish was cooked to perfection and coated in a gorgeous golden batter. I now live in France and it is nearly 4 years since I was back here but well worth the wait. This has to be one of the best fish and chip restaurants in the North East if not the country.

Awesome quality fish and chips, stopped here whilst visiting relatives. The quality of the fish was outstanding and cooked to order as we had the haddock. Excellent value for money, superb friendly service. Can’t fault it. I’m an ex fish and chip shop owner so I know a thing or two about fish and chips.

my wife and I have eaten several times in the restaurant and the friendly service was always excellent when the dinge again normal we will be again. the side is always excellent and the staff is also helpful and friendly.

Fish and chip lunch in restaurant upstairs. Was absoloutely beautiful. Price was very reasonable, very clean and really good friendly service. Would definitely recommend.
