My first visit to this restaurant today was very disappointing. After waiting for 45 minutes, we had to ask to order our food. When it arrived (full English breakfast), it was clearly not freshly cooked and seemed to have been sitting all day. The sausage was dry, the bacon was tough like cardboard, and the eggs were burnt at the edges. Out of the four meals we ordered, only the burger was somewhat decent. The young ladies serving us were friendly and made sure we had everything we needed, but the young men seemed pretty miserable and leaned over us with food instead of walking around. Despite Stokes having a good reputation, today's experience fell short. I will not be in a rush to visit ag...
I ordered brunch through the Just Eat app. Unfortunately, the food arrived 25 minutes late and was cold and unappetizing. To make matters worse, my husband's food was missing. When I called the restaurant to inquire about the missing item, I was met with rude and unhelpful responses. It seems that once the order leaves the building, they are unwilling to rectify any mistakes. It would be beneficial for them to ensure that all items are included in the order before delivery and provide better customer service training for the staff. Overall, our experience was extremely disappointing.
I visited this restaurant for the first time and unfortunately, I will not be coming back. I waited at the door to be seated for 5 minutes without any staff acknowledging my presence. As a group, we waited 15 minutes to be asked for our drink orders, and another 15 minutes to place our food orders. When the food finally arrived, the poached eggs were overcooked to the point of resembling boiled eggs and the toast was merely warmed bread. The English breakfast was cold and dry, with bacon that was as tough as leather and sausage that was extremely dry.
Called in for breakfast Saturday 4th November with my sister. We had coffee and the most tasty mushrooms on toast ever! Sis had hers on ciabatta, I had brown sour dough. The staff were welcoming and friendly, service was very quick. The cafe is lovely and clean. The coffee was really good love Stokes coffee and served hot. The breakfast was amazing and we will be back to try more. I would recommend this cafe and am returning next week with my daughter :

Had breakfast with my daughter at Stokes for her birthday in September, it was so good we visited again today as we were at the top of Lincoln. The Lawn has great parking and good disabled access. The full English was tasty and filling, served hot by lovely, friendly and helpful staff. The coffee was perfect. The cake choice looked amazing too. Highly recommend Stokes at the Lawn for a relaxed friendly atmospheric breakfast.
We had the High Tea here and it was lovely. Lord knows they serve enough food to feed an army and they are not as dainty/refined as some tea rooms but the food is delicious and the service friendly. I loved the sausage rolls that were included.....also enjoyed the glass of Prosecco that came along with the meal.
The service is excellent and the food is yummy, I had the most yummy lincolnshire sausage roll and a cold diet Coke which was very welcome after walking round town and up steep hill. Thankyou I will be back again
I’m puzzled as to why, whenever I come here, I wait an age for my coffee? I’ve never had my cake/slab/bun, actually with my coffee!! It’s a coffee shop so surely they’ve got it off to a fine art by now?!

Great food and service in a fabulous part of the city. Lots of options for those who are restricted on what they can eat. Only trouble was choosing from the menu. Really good Coffee.
Excellent service and excellent food. Highly recommend visiting, will be going back again very soon.
