This is a great home style comfort food kinda place. Food was great had the Fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy and carrots. Excellent flavors really takes you back to Midwest and Southern style cooking like mom used to make. Restaurant also has an attached cocktail lounge again very old school and reminded me of times gone by. Service was very personable and prompt food was brought out hot and was delicious. Restaurant and lounge both were exceptionally clean and I for sure will be making this a regular stop going forward. Prices were more than fair and the portions were on target. VERY Good breakfast food ..BETTER than IHOP, Dennys, and Norms. The atmosphere is outdated.. stuck back in the 70s- 80's perhaps. So if looking for very nice exclusive experience..this is not the place..but looking for great food, clean, friendly service.. not too long of a wait yet. (Once the Norms people find out about this hidden jewel . This will no longer be the case)...This place is recommended for sure..plenty of parking.
Lived in the area for over 20 years, first time here. Recommended by son in law, I wished I would've came a long time ago. Food is great service is great staff is great. I will definitely be making Stox a regular for me and the family. For those with a sweet tooth, you've gotta try their brownies and cookies ?. I'll be trying the pies ? next I've read some good reviews on them. To be continued...
Very disappointed!!! Our favorite breakfast place is changing in the wrong direction. They open at 7 AM with only one server and the next one does not start until 9 AM. Don't expect good service!Now we are only getting one slice of toast with our breakfast to save cost. Sad but we will be searching for another breakfast spot to be our favorite.

They advertise themselves the best breakfast of Downey , but the food is pretty average. Service was great but the for a family of 3 to pay 70$ it 's pretty expensive. The food is not worth the price. and thats the reason for the 3 star rating.Food: 3/5
I love this mom pop restaurant. The vibe is just that. There’s not many restaurants in this area like this. Elpidio was so kind and so friendly!! He made my son laugh and made us feel so welcomed.Food: 5/5
