Sunsets' Tequila At Loews Don Cesar

Bottom line up front disappointing experience at a very overrated restaurant. I dont understand the rave reviews unless written by people with no knowledge of good food. We are guests at the Don Cesar on our honeymoon and decided to do fine dining at the four star, diamond rated Maritana Grille. First the decor. NOT fine dining. Not horrible, clean and modern but not in any way romantic or classy. Feels like an upscale diner or the place you go to for the free breakfast buffet at a nice hotel. HORRIBLE! What have you done?! Maritana used to be the BEST restaurant in town, without question. Now, I’m simply not going back. The renovation is horrible, it cheapened the restaurant and experience, and certainly does not elegant nor refined. The food? Horrendous. Underwhelming menu, and the quality was atrocious. I’m just don’t understand why? Why did you ruin what used to be an incredible experience for all the senses? Whoever decided to make these changes is simply, and sadly, a fool. You never fix what is not broken. I am truly sad at the passing of the Maritana. I just hope it resuscitates someday.

The meal was very good. Bison steak and Red fish are highly recommended. The prawns were disappointing. The service staff were top notch.

Ok. Apps, salads and small plates were great. Main entrees were average. Over priced. Service was good bu slow.
