I normally love Sweet Tamarind after being a loyal diner for a number of years! The service has gone downhill and this has no doubt affected the food. We ordered The Crying Tiger which was served cold on arrival at our table. When I told the manager, I was greeted with a rude and a aggressive response from the girl that was standing beside her whom I was directing my conversation towards. I do not expect a great deal, but I do expect great food and service when I dine out.Sweet Tamarind we expect much better service as loyal customers, we have so many quality eateries around the area and I do hope you join that list again!
Opening up directly next to an existing Thai restaurant was always going to be challenging but this restaurant established itself as the preferred restaurant very quickly.The food is incredibly delicious and beautiful to look at. It is often full, so I recommend booking a table in advance.I have friends coming from as far as werribee specifically to come to this restaurant.We highly recommend this restaurant.
The dishes are not the usual tired old thai favourites, although some ae on the menu. The food is original and different but very well prepared and presented. They have toned down the overuse of tamarind from before and will adapt dishes to cater for any food allergies and yet still retain lots of flavour. We have had takeaway from here but in my opinion the food suffers from travelling.
This is one of my favourite neighbourhood restaurants. I have never had a bad meal and I come here often. The food is fantastic, in particular the Massaman curry but you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Added bonus that it is BYO, so you can have a great night out with friends without breaking the bank. Highly recommend.

One of the shining lights in the Ashburton area. The food is excellent and the presentation definitely tantalizes the taste buds. Excellent food, good atmosphere and friendly staff. A must do food experience.
Sweet tamarind offers a variety of food. Very good place for takeout however also a nice place to eat in. Yes it is on the more expensive side for take out but with generous servings it is worth every cent.
It's only tiny but packs a big flavour punch with unusual dishes like lamb shank. Delicious food! Parking so easy out the front or round the corner, and easy for byo as well being next door to First Choice.
Gorgeous Thai food with authentic taste. Everything was fresh and cooked to the point. The curries were spicy but not too hot. Definitivly a place to go

The presentation of the food is very good but the flavours could do with a bit of tweaking. It's good that it is BYO and parking is easy.
Food is delicious and beautifully presented! Hostess was happy to recommend dishes and also made us extra dishes for us to try!
