After spending a few days in Chicago, my husband and I wanted to find a quiet place to have lunch. When Taboun Grill popped up on my google search, I had a feeling that it was what we were looking for. It was perfect in every way-very clean and spacious, quiet except for the laughter and joyful conversation of the family who owns/runs the restaurant. I felt very welcome and comfortable. Our server was especially nice and helped us order a perfect meal. The food was light and fresh and we left feeling satisfied and energized to continue our journey up north. If we are ever area, we will definitely stop here again!
We went with some family who eat kosher. The food is good, solid and tasty, however the prices are a bit off the scale even taking into account the kosher factor.The service is attentive but a little hectic. On the plus side a server spoke Hebrew and it was very helpful as some family did not sirak any English.
What a lovely gem of a restaurant. Sweet staff. I had the beef shish kebob with red cabbage and yellow basmati rice. So tender, flavorful and fresh. The pastels were perfectly crispy and potatoey. I look forward to trying more delicious dishes next time!

We ordered some items from Taboun this year for break fast, and we're going to make it an annual tradition.
One of our "must stops" when we're in town shopping Sadly, falafel has cilantro which I'm allergic to.
