Taca d'Oli - Reservar una mesa

I have visited this restaurant maybe once or twice every time I have visited Nice and loved it . I think ,maybe , it has changed ownership , tonight’s meal was frankly awful . Soup de poisson tasted a little odd and the waiter said...he wouldn’t recommend it . We all 3 had steak . When they arrived the waiter didn’t know which was cooked to the order and ended up with one sent back . The fat on two of the steaks was quite a lot. Service slow side and it was not busy . I genuinely used to LOVE going here but I won’t go back in a hurry . Finally there used to be prix fixed menus which had gone and they were good value . The dinner we had at La taca d'oli was very bad. I ordered a fish soup, and it was the worst I've ever had. It was not a fish soup but some kind of decoction of fish puree. An unappetizing brown-gray dish. The taste was...watery and bitter. The smell is unpleasant. The chef who serves this so-called soup must be totally tasteless. Hard, inedible bread was served with the soup. My wife had clams and this dish too was terrible. They were the smallest and worst mussels we had in Nice. We have eaten mussels in many restaurants. How the chef manages to make the shovel taste bad, I don't understand. This place is under all criticism.

Small and cosy. Good service and good food. Reasonable prices, so what more can one claim? We had starter, main and dessert all was excellent. With a bottle of White (Bandol) and a huge water with gas the price was 96 eur for two....Popular place, few tables make a reservation.

I went for the house special. A massive pan of seafood in a rich tomato/pepper sauce with bread to mop up with. 32euro and my favourite meal of the year. Thankyou so much. The photos don't really do it justice but check it out

Cozy place, food made with love. The service was beyond the ordinary fantastic. Never visiting a place with this kind of good service.
