Taj Palace - Reserva de mesa

We just walked into the first restaurant we came to after we parked the car. It was very basic, and we wondered what we had got ourselves into. Nothing was squeaky clean, but the service was good and the menu choices vast. All reservations disappeared after the food arrived. Good sized portions, beautifully spiced, perfect temperature, and good timing. All topped off with authentic Indian beverages. A pleasant surprise for an agreeable price.

The Taj Palace continues to produce amazing food. The menu is beautiful and varied and the wines are very good. The owners run a relaxed place that hasn't ceased to impress my family on several occasions (and we'll keep going back). Here you get great plates with fresh spices and distinct flavours, The decor is funky, a tad run down, but it all adds to the unique experience of being there. We absolutely love it!

Indian is my favourite cuisine (and I eat out a lot!) I have spent 6 months in India and consider myself to have a pretty good idea of what is what. This is hands down the best Indian restaurant I have eaten in. Better than anywhere in all the places I have tried in Sydney. Authentic and locally owned- I can't recommend this place enough. Lovely family owned business as well. 5 stars!

Wow!We turned up at 10:00 for a very last minute dinner and they were happy to accomodate!As soon as we walked in the smell was intoxicating and smelt very authentic.As a chef I can appreciated quality food and these guys sure delivered.Very hot naan, tasty biryani and smoky murgh makhani!Probably (actually definitely) the best Indian restaurant food I've had!My number 1 in Hobart! It says authentic Indian food and it surely is. I am a local hobartian and have traveled in India, and this is one of the best Indian restaurants in Hobart because it reminds me of the home-style local Indian food I had when traveling in India. I'm always impressed every time I have a meal in this restaurant.

We went for lunch with our daughter who was visiting from interstate.Not the sort of place that you would go for posh decor, but the friendly nature of the owners and the quality of the food certainly makes the Taj Palace one on our shortlist for 'worth going back' either it be just for us, or with visitors.

We really enjoyed the food at this restaurant. It is very authentic and they cater to people's dietary needs. The staff are very helpful and friendly and the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere

great selection of curries, also dosa (indian pancake like dishes) and lots of vegetarian options. great value for money and friendly staff.
