I hate sharing it. If you find a precious jewel, you want to keep it yourself. My wife and I went to Clayton to see a prosthetic specialist. We decided to eat in Clayton. We put the best restaurants in Claytonin google. The first two were closed, so we went with Tavern 42. Friendly staff, great wine and beer selection also on design. Fresh beef cooked perfectly moderately good. Real mushrooms and not skillful. My wife ordered 3 pages that could have the main courses. The cannili/spinach dish had fresh non-frozen spinach and genuine garlic and non-horse garlic powder. PHENOMENAL!
Not all wings are the same, but these wings are on the spot!! No wings are complete without big dressing and the Bleu cheese dressing was also creamy and tasty. Had a cup of Joe who was great together with real Creamer. The children's menu was also decent. Very recommended!
I?ve been to Tavern 42 a few times now and it has been great every time. I?m from NY so I?m very picky about pizza wings, but Tavern 42 both pizza and wings are great! Definitely the best I?ve had since moving to NC.
Great food, beer music but some old blonde lady came in with her peeps thinking she could get a table right away by throwing her name around...Friday night 2.2.18- that is the only thing I disliked about this place!

The bar staff is amazing. They are fast and ensure that everyone is treated equally. This is my way to Friday night's place. Great people, and Kathy kills it for karaoke. If absolutely recommend visiting.
The pizza here which was the T 42 combo was the best pizza I have ever had. The medium is perfect for two people and if you get a salad it's perfect for four people.
Hidden gem! Great food, great atmosphere! For a awesome meal, check out this place! Found one of our new favorite places.

Hands down best pizza in the area. The cheesy bread is amazing as well.
