Tavern On The Bay - Reserva de mesa

I visited the restaurant last night with a guest and requested to sit outside. The bartender agreed, so we chose a table outside and waited for about 10-15 minutes. After that, I went back inside to try and get the bartender’s attention but stood there for a few minutes without receiving any assistance. The woman behind the bar offered no customer service and did not communicate well at all; it was clear she was not suited for her role. In short, we ended up going to the Brass Rail, where we enjoyed excellent service and delicious food. I wouldn't return to this restaurant even if you paid me.

This is likely the best shepherd's pie on Long Island—at least, it's the best I've found so far. The burgers can be hit or miss, but when they're good, they're really delicious (even when they're not spot on, they're still enjoyable). The fries are great, and they serve a nice selection of fresh draft beers. The staff is wonderful. It's my favorite local bar!

Don't go here when they have a large group. We waited 45 minutes and still no food. When we asked, they said they were sorry but they had a large group.. We waited another 10 min, when asked they said that they hadn't even started on our order. So we left and went elsewhere. Too bad. Always liked this place.

It's a shame that it's closed. It was a perfect spot for locals to gather. The food and service were always excellent.
