Visited this cafe on a public holiday for breakfast so they were relatively busy. Very friendly welcome and we were seated immediately and ordered coffee instantly. We were there for 20 minutes with no coffee and no one to come and take our order. We watched as customers who had come in after us receive their coffees and had already ordered. We asked our waitress if our coffees were being made and if so then we would take them away as we wanted to make our way to another cafe where we could get some service. They hadn't even started on our coffees so we left with nothing but a poor experience. Won't be returning.
I had the 'bit of this bit of that' selection on the menu for breakfast consisting of a granola bowl, mini croissant, mini toast with avocado and egg & juice ( I added mushrooms) The flavour of all on my plate was delicious however when they wrote 'mini' on the menu they definitely meant mini. The granola bowl however was plenty and walked away very full.Delicious food, warm welcome and humble in size, seated under the warm sun. This place is definitely a gem in the South East! I will be back!
As my title suggests, Temperance Society is every bit the Brunswick bakery on one of Hughesdale's best streets. With a variety of food, most of the ingredients you would never have heard of, you may just end up picking something.The great thing is, no matter what you pick, you'll get something really quite nice. They aren't massive servings, and a little bit pricey, but it's really your only local option and you could certainly do a lot worse.

The most incredible food and atmosphere! Food is varied for all taste buds and health choices. Coffee is good quality and staff are friendly! It does get pretty busy so arrive early or you can book. The court yard does get pretty chilly in winter so ensure you rug up as most of the seating is outside (there is inside tables as well ) but worth it.
Had breakfast after a walk and the food did not disappoint. Love the courtyard out the back especially on a sunny Melbourne day. The staff are fun and friendly. Good size servings and beautifully presented. A lovely fresh café in the suburbs. Will definitely go again next time I'm in Melbourne
Just delicious! I had the avo smash. The chilli serves soooo well along side their avo feta mix, on a rye toast! Perfect chilli kick. A nice coffee too. Good vibes, feel and service. Looking forward to going back when I'm next in the area. I would definitely return and recommend : ) XOXO
Went for our daughters birthday brunch, as busy as usual, but you'd expect that from a quality cafe on a Sunday morning. I decided on the chilli scrambled eggs, with a hash side. The most delicious eggs I've ever had. I'm going back just for that. I still think about it. Perfect.

The best hot cakes ever AND the best scrambled eggs ever! A feast for our eyes as well as our tummies. Excellent service. I can't wait to go back and try something else on the menu
It's been a while since I had a benedict like this. Fantastic take on the old tradition with nice coffee and service to suit. Very impressive place and will definitely be back.
