Once we were finally seated, our waitress was attentive and got us drinks and rolls quickly, which was a positive start. However, the appetizers and entrees came out quickly but were lacking in flavor. The best items on the menu were the fried pickles, rolls, and steak, but overall, the food was subpar.
The most disheartening part of our visit occurred when we asked our waitress if she could sing to my daughter for her birthday. Her response was, “I don’t have a very loud voice,” and she suggested we ask other servers. We waited only about 10 minutes for a table. Our waiter, Khris, was friendly and attentive, greeting us immediately. Drinks arrived quickly, and he took our order right away. Our salads came within 5 minutes, followed by our entrees just two minutes later. The salads were delicious, featuring chopped egg, which was a nice touch. The meats were mostly good, though the chicken tenders were a bit dry. My wife loved the loaded mashed potatoes, but I found the steamed vegetables overcooked. I almost rated it lower because of the veggies, but I was really impressed that our Country Fried Sirloin, chicken tenders, and ribs arrived in under 10 minutes after ordering—that was truly impressive!
I really enjoy the food and drinks at Texas Roadhouse! The steak was perfectly cooked to my liking, and the mashed potatoes were delicious. The firecracker shrimp had a fantastic sauce—though I personally would have preferred it a bit spicier. Regardless, I’d definitely order it again! The service is excellent as well. Our waiter frequently checked on us and was very attentive. Every visit has been marked by great service and consistently tasty food.
As we looked around, we realized we were the only people of color in the restaurant, which made us wonder if that influenced our experience. Additionally, there were no Black staff members working during our visit. This sense of isolation and neglect left us feeling very uncomfortable. After spending nearly $200 for three people, we were ultimately disappointed with our experience.

We visited with a group of 25 and had an incredible experience. Auli’i truly exceeded our expectations; she was exceptionally organized and very friendly. The service was remarkably efficient, the food was excellent, and we had a fantastic time. Kudos to TRH!
Vegetarian options: This is not the ideal spot for vegans or vegetarians.
Parking: There is plenty of parking available in the large lot.
Kid-friendliness: They offer a kids' menu and have high chairs available.
First time to this Texas Roadhouse in Citrus Heights. Food was great, we were seated promptly, our waitress was friendly. Will be coming back
From out of town, food arrived incorrectly prepared and cold, server was short and not very helpful. Restrooms were dirty. Would not return.
