Always had good food and prompt online service but this experience was sadly the worst. Waited over an hour had to get up and go looking for service twice. No explanation when I finally left and went looking for my food a check I asked what was going on was told an large party came in right when they opened. Would have been great to have had an explanation or sort of communication, check in something. Was completely ignored trying to give some allowance but did notice a wine sales rep and tasting go on and other bar chatter when it seems like there might have been an opportunity for service. Definitely not going back on my lunch break again
we tend to be quite regular in monks cellar and always find the food and beer excellent. it is loud when the place is overcrowded, so be prepared for it. but the service is always fast, courtesy and professional, and they will find some really excellent beer to very good trips. we had the carbonnade flamande, a Belgian bark stew, the fish chips with deengreased friars, and the raspberry lemon cream brulee for dessert. all dishes were excellent, and the carbonnade flamande was particularly delicious. we had various beers that were all excellent. the beer seems really here, they can't go wrong to order their favourite style. wonderful!

our table was ready for our 3 watches reservation. jake, our server, was excellent. he was very responsive, helpful in explaining menu points and very personal. the food was delicious and the drinks and the beer were really good. we will all return in the near future as a group. Thank you!

the food was great and also the location. the service was far above what we have still got other places today. drinks were refilled, several people help each other so that eating came hit and we were often checked.
Our waiter Jake was really good and very personable. The service was fantastic. The food was also fantastic.
we both had the cottage pie and a cooked bridge bier and enjoyed our experience!
Dinner was great, but given how busy the restaurant was, service was a bit slow.
