The Barley Mow - Reservar una mesa

Visited Barley Mow on August 18th, 2023 2:00pm, We were recently disgusted with high and low end restaurants and their service in Ottawa lately, so we drove down to Brockville to the Barley Mow for a second experience there. We had been in the winter and thought it was great. Today, we were again very satisfied. We had the 'Dip and scoop board '. The food was great and the service was awesome!. The waiter we had (should have asked his name) was on point with everything, he put forth extra effort, something one would expect when eating out, especially with the cost of going now! He is a great example of what I wish Ottawa waiters and waitresses should be like. This waiter, is rare in this day...

The staff was amiable and very helpful. The dishes were just at an acceptable level as they were served hot while we were all starving at 1 pm. Although they offered a fusion menu, I would recommend trying the fish and chips if you wanna have a safe choice. I tried the butter chicken; the chicken was slightly above average, but the rice wasn’t cooked properly (the naan was actually much better). I would give this spot 3.5 stars only, but the welcoming staff made me rate it 4 stars.

This place was fabulous!!! We ate outside with friends, it was great. The staff was super friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. The drinks were tasty. My husband loved their sweet potato fries, and the cow dunk I had was yummy!! We will be back next time we are in Ontario.

Very soggy fries w many black potatoes. Kale slaw interesting but large pieces of raw sprouts were not good. Fish ok. Beer fine. Service...well I had to go find someone to take my order. Sunday evening five screens all w same hockey game.

Stopped in for the first time today en route to home in GTA. PCathy was our server made great suggestions. We had the tomato soup best ever!! Will definitely go again the next time we're in the area ?

We stopped for apps on a Wednesday with a large group, and the service was great. We ordered apps only to keep the wait times relatively low, and the bar tender was awesome!

Had a great meal and service was excellent prices were decent staff were friendly and its a beautiful place to relax have a drink eat over all great dinning

Good value for food and drink. Related to 1000 Island Brewery. Good beer selection. Friendly
