I had the pleasure of visiting the Better Half in Hove on Saturday night. Traveling from Melton Mowbray to spend time with my daughter and her boyfriend, we enjoyed a delightful evening of food, drink, and conversation at this upmarket pub. The Harvey's Bitter was a truly wonderful pint, and the fish of the day, a Bream, was simply beautiful. I even took a moment to extend my compliments to the kitchen for their perfect preparation. With extremely reasonable prices for the high-quality offerings, I look forward to revisiting this fine establishment when I'm back in the area, hopefully in a few months' time. The service and the atmosphere were great, however I was slightly disappointed with the Sunday Roast. I’d heard so many good things but unfortunately didn’t have a good experience. The potatoes were so crisp they were hard to eat, and there was a lot of fat on the roast beef pretty much more than half of the meat I was unable to eat. I didn’t have a good experience. Would go back for drinks but not for food unfortunately.
This is the best roast I've had in a long time! The cauliflower cheese was absolutely amazing. The staff were friendly and informed us about the food wait time due to a large table just arriving. They even gave us some nuts to snack on while we waited, which wasn't too long anyway. I will definitely be going back again. Thank you to the staff. The restaurant is dog-friendly with many cute pups there.
This charming neighborhood pub has a perfect atmosphere for dining or enjoying a drink. The food was excellent, especially the chef's special of clam and mussel pappardelle. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this place!

We visited this restaurant for Sunday roast and found both the vegan/vegetarian options and the meat options to be really delicious. I would definitely recommend this place if you are in Brighton.
Now my favourite pub in Brighton and Hove. Really lovely staff, food was gorgeous (mushroom pate with focaccia, nachos, charcuterie board, milk chicken burgers) and they didn't mind the kids!
An amazing pub restaurant, great selection of drinks, very good table service. We had ox cheek cottage pie and ribs both were absolutely amazing, some of the best ever! Well worth a visit
Roast was 4 stars. Staff service was very good and music wasn’t played too loud. 100/100 minimum characters completed.
