Really let down by the outside! The pub is in a great location at the side of the canal but doesn't look very inviting with planters full of dead flowers and weeds plus benches that look like they were painted by a child, just looks uncared for. We past other pubs along the canal that had lovely beer gardens that were really busy yet despite its location this pub had plenty of empty seats outside. On the plus side it was a cracking pint.
The staff here are friendly and respectful, making it a great spot to visit, especially for away days during football games. I highly recommend this place to anyone considering a visit. It has a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere, and the prices are reasonable, ranging from £10 to £20 per person. Overall, I would rate the service a perfect 5 and the atmosphere a solid 5 as well.
Lovely looking pub on the canal side, went for a quick drink on Sat afternoon with the family but didn't stay long because the dance music that was booming out of every single speaker, even the seats outside was so loud we couldn't hear each other speak. Clean but a bit tired looking pub. Don’t do food which is a shame. Not a bad point of Guinness. Atmosphere wasn’t good but went in early afternoon so don’t know about evenings. There wasn't any real ale available, and the place was quite empty on a Saturday afternoon. The bar staff didn’t seem attentive, so we decided to turn around and head to the Blue Bell across the street, which turned out to be the perfect choice! Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
First time I've been here, just passing, lovely setting next to the canal, nice greeting from the land lady, baguette and a pint, what more could you ask for, thanks for the warm welcome
Great Beer, great staff, manageress and excellnt clientel. Highly recommend to everyone boaters and hikers alike. I have't eaten there, but the pies look great. Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
