The Cott Inn - Reserva de mesa

This had been recommended to us, so we went with rather high expectations. There were some interesting items on the menu, sadly some unavailable. I ordered chicken, and had eaten about 80% of it when I came across a chunk that looked suspiciously raw. It was hard to tell in the dim lighting of the pub, but I stopped eating and when the plates were cleared I mentioned it to the server. She said she would tell chef, and came back a few minutes later to say that chef thought it was cooked ok.... Very busy for a November evening which is great to see. We had to park offsite in a nearby residential area. So good to choose from a menu that includes ethically sourced meats. I chose from the specials board, excited by the offer of venison. The plate included venison steak, veg and suet pudding. The suet pudding was incredible. The venison steak, however, was very tough. Inedible. I was envious of the fish choices my family made and regretted not going with the free range chicken in cider. We live and learn. So sad that the deer died in vain!

Best meal I’ve had in ages, couldn’t be better. I had the “Mushroom, brie cranberry Wellington, fondant potato, smoked almonds, greens (shredded cabbage and samphire), madeira cream sauce” every element was an essential part of the whole, the wellington was really meaty, and the portion size was ideal to fill me up without feeling like I’d over eaten. The staff were accommodating and friendly too. Then there’s the fact that the whole place looks lovely inside and out. Perfection!

Flagged average not because of the food but due to the fact that we ended up stuck on a 2 seater table tight to the entrance door at the busy bar end. Appreciate it was Christmas but the space became very cramped as people queued for the bar. Not the best experience having peoples backsides and coats thrust in your face as you try to eat. First time myself and friend (who lives nearby) had been there,lovely looking pub,friends staff and great food,I had a burger and it was delicious,my friend had a vegetarian option that he liked,would go again if I was in the area

The food, atmosphere and service in this establishment is second to none. I had the burger which was cooked to perfection and my wife had the fish. Both dishes were 10/10. There was live music on which was a bonus.

Such a quaint and wonderful little Devonshire pub. The food was beyond delicious and the service was personable, warm and friendly. If I could give this 6 stars I would! Jack was very accommodating! Thank you

We have just got home from the Cott Inn after a fabulous meal my husband I both had roast it was beautiful !! The service was excellent will definitely go back
