Came here for dinner on Valentine’s Day. It was easy to create a booking online, which is more convenient than calling them. The food prices are pretty high, but I have to say that the food was good; however, the portions could be improved on as they were pretty preservative with that. Furthermore, they are pretty generous with the salt in some dishes, so you might want to keep that in mind. The restaurant is located in a hotel and isn’t that loud a nice place to go with someone for dinner or lunch. Another thing to mention is that at night there is nice ambient lighting that reduces the strain on your eyes and makes the environment more romantic.
Had a really super dinner at The Foodworks this evening. The service was friendly and efficient, a special mention must be given to Callum who was excellent! The menu itself was small but had something to tempt everyone on each course. We opted for the soup, carrot and coriander, always a winner and the duck which were both well presented and tasty. For the main course it was the sword fish and the Sea Bass and once again they definitively 'hit the spot. ' Although we were both quite full after the first two courses we managed the Chocolate and Orange Tart and a selection of Ice Creams. A perfect meal!
The restaurant offers a wide range of creative vegetarian and vegan dishes for both starters and mains. I tried the delicious filo tart and also enjoyed the tofu balls with chilli and guacamole. The meat dishes were also tasty. The staff was efficient and friendly. I also tried their afternoon tea, which was mostly great except for the heavy and scantily filled fruit scone. The rest of the tea was enjoyable, with Lancashire savoury treats instead of the typical finger sandwiches.
We recently returned to Lancaster House for the first time since our wedding reception there 18 years ago. The food was outstanding, providing us with a perfect fine dining experience. The wait staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. They went above and beyond to make our anniversary special by decorating our table with diamonds and giving us each a complimentary glass of Prosecco. The food and wine were impeccable, and we couldn't find a single fault with our experience.

I took my son out for a special birthday dinner at this restaurant. He loved his perfectly cooked steak and I thoroughly enjoyed my halibut dish. The desserts, ginger parkin and espresso creme brulee, were also delicious. A big thank you to Isobel for her excellent service.
Our server was awesome, and the food equally so. A lovely setting if you're taking your son on a birthday treat meal from the next door university : Thank you for making it a lovely meal!

Breakfast was fantastic and the server Jimmy was an absolute legend. Food was piping on and any little requests were sorted quickly.
