Firstly, I am somewhat amazed at the reviews theis venue has based on our visit on Saturday evening. We arrived 45 minutes early for our table for 4 persons at 7.30pm as I had called ahead at lunchtime asking if they had a bar area that we could sit and select from the menu in advance of being seated in the restaurant. I was given the impression that they had a lavish area for this purpose. However, this was not the case and we were shown to our table on arrival which was probably the worst location in the restaurant that was sparse of diners at that time. Visited again last night with my husband and we’re greeted with a very warm welcome. I had the king prawn starter that was superb and my husband had the mozzarella special . I had the salmon for main and my husband had the cod both were absolutely delicious. We shared a chocolate orange mousse with honeycomb crumb which was superb. All the waiters are very attentive without being intrusive and had a bit of banter with them. Looking forward to returning again very soon. Highly recommended, a little pricey but you get what you pay for.

Amazing food, great atmosphere, the staff are so welcoming and really go that extra mile to make the experience one to remember. Food was amazing, drinks were fab! Not a bad word to say at all!!! I would highly recommend for work related meals, family, couples and friends. This is the best Mediterranean Restaurant in Hertfordshire!!! If you haven't eaten at the gables then you need to you are missing out!

Lovely 3-course meal here for my partner’s birthday. Food was delicious, service fantastic and the atmosphere vibrant and lively. My steak for my main was very good, Georgia’s mushroom rigatoni the standout of all the dishes. No car park that I could see, but across the road is the village hall car park/cricket club car park, we parked in there fine, just in case you aren’t sure. Reserva una mesa ahora

Staff nosy and patronising, repeatedly calling us ‘girls’ at aged 26 and making sarcastic comments at our order choice. Ordered a Bloody Mary as my favourite cocktail and one drink of the night and it was basic tomato juice. We were in and out in 45 minutes which all together proved a very overpriced 45 minutes. Food was good, the only saving grace.

Can not fault the staff , they were so so lovely and attentive . We came for my partners birthday and they really made a quite Wednesday evening into a birthday . Food and drinks were also lovely ! Would highly recommend.

Service was outstanding, food was fantastic, restaurant has a very good atmosphere, waiters are attentive and welcoming, very good for any occasion, I will definitely be coming back here again!

We were made to feel very welcome. The food was outstanding. We had a wonderful lunch and my mother had a great time. they all sang Happy Birthday which was special. PS I found my belt at home! Reserva una mesa ahora

Fantastic evening. Staff brilliant very attentive and friendly , food excellent. Best venue to celebrate any occasion or just to indulge yourself to a great night out.

Excellent food. Excellent service. Run by Theo who is normally there and in consequence everyone knows their part. Great traditional restaurant.
