The Galley - Reservar una mesa

We originally had reservations at a different restaurant (Oak Bay Golf Course) to celebrate our anniversary but after waiting for over minutes for a table we were irritated and hungry and went in search of somewhere to eat. We arrived here and I believe...they were close to closing. We really appreciated that they stayed open to serve us. Our server Sabrina was extremely friendly and personable. My husband had the fish and chips he really enjoyed that, I had a taste and I have to admit their in house made batter is amongst the best ive ever had. We booked a hotel not far from The Galley for a night. A few days before we were to arrive the front desk called us and mentioned that a restaurant within walking distance was having live entertainment on Thursday and did we need a reservation....SURE! When we arrived the place was packed. Many of the patrons took time to say hi. Unbelievably friendly. First impressions continued with the staff. Prompt, friendly and helpful. Food was also great. The Halibut and chips was very good and the eggplant parm was huge and exceptionally good. The piano player was very good and complimented the atmosphere of the restaurant. Decent food and friendly servers. There aren't a whole lot of options for restaurants in the area, especially since Christie's mill and the Grill is closed, Rawley was only doing take out this summer and the gas station closes quite early. We have eaten here...a few times now out of convenience. Food is good, nothing special. Id recommend going for half price wing nights on Thursdays throughout the summer. They even had live music this year which was nice considering all live music has been cancelled everywhere for over a year. I do like the location, you can eat right on the water. Overall a positive experience if you are looking for somewhere to eat in port severn area.

We are so happy to have the Galley open again for the season. Thursday wing night is always on our calendar and I can report the the wings this season are very plump and meaty with great sauce selection. We are a very large group...and somehow our server manages to keep all the orders straight and keep track of who needs another beer or a glass of wine. Great entertainment on the deck and a lively crowd makes for a fun Thursday night.

Lovely location next to the water. I gather this is a seasonal restaurant catering the cottagers and boaters in the area. Great service even when it is super busy. I chanced the fish and chips for dinner on the recommendation of the server. I was...not disappointed. Good chunk of halibut, good batter around it and a sizable portion. The fries were the usual.

The service was slow, but I don't hold it against them because it was a very busy night when we were there. There is a nice seating area on the outside patio overlooking the water. There was a live band, which was also nice. But...the food was extremely bland and I would not return to this place.

No Restaurant at Christie Mills we had to find other places to eat. This place was not on thier list but was very good food. Fast and courteous service.

Food good, service good and the evening setting overlooking the water was relaxing and fun. Missed draft beer but the wine made up for it.
