The Good Catch - Reservar una mesa

This used to be nice. Probably the worst chippy in the area. On so many occasion been very disappointed so now leaving a review and never going back….. Soggy greasy chips portion, fish size gonna smaller, never fresh like it used to be. Now cooked...and left there. Over battered. Some staff never polite and welcoming (bad attitude) Not exactly cheap. You would expect to get what you paid for. I would strongly recommend eating any where but this place

Since lockdown the quality really has plummeted, fish is tiny and not well cooked and the chips are far too soggy and greasy. This place used to be very good, not sure what happened. It's possible it changed ownership and cost cutting has become more...prevalent but I think it's more to do with the staff there who have no clue. They leave the fish out for about an hour on the rack until its served, you pay full price only for cold fish.

I used to believe that this was the top fish and chip shop in the area, but ever since they rearranged things because of covid, I haven't been enjoying the food. The fish is often greasy and the chips are soggy. Additionally, making customers wait outside in the cold and rain doesn't improve the experience. When I inquired about this, they mentioned that they now prefer to operate in this manner.

We have regularly visited here as the size of fresh fish and light none greasy batter were excellent. At busy times there is a queue outside. Tonight was the second time recently that the small fish was covered in a very large amount of overcooked...and very greasy batter, Chips very average to soggy. Maybe the current price of wholesale fish is high, or different employees preparing the food
