The scotch eggs are great! But my entrees kept coming out raw. First I ordered the salmon (medium temp) and it was raw. The server offered to have it remade. I ordered the steak salad instead (medium rare temp), and that came out raw as well. And the dressing, described as a basil vinaigrette, was loaded cilantro. This is a good place for drinks and apps but was disappointed in the mains.
Sat outside so noise level was less and lovely. Had space heaters and nice herb boxes around. I’ve had drinks there in the past that were a bit tastier than this time. It wasn’t horrible but wasn’t as good as other time I went. I’m not sure how to handle the time limit conundrum on tables, but it never sits well to feel rushed to leave when you are still ordering food and drinks…
The ambience and customer service was superb! I chose here to celebrate my husband’s birthday since he loves whisky and we will definitely be returning. The food was amazing and the chef made sure he answered our questions regarding our food allergies. He was pleasant and courteous. The server was amazing. We had time to eat and celebrate.
First the ambiance was perfect for a post-Scotland trip get together with a friend. Reminded me of Scotland. Second, several of the food options were like what we'd had in Scotland and all were delicious! Third, the staff was attentive but didn't interrupt our time visiting. Will definitely go back. Our server, Casey is fantastic. She was very helpful, attentive, patient, and fun. The food was delicious and the drink variety was fantastic.
The MacMillan Whiskey Room is a very nice restaurant. I had a very nice lunch and it was a good place to bring a friend.
