Used to live here and loved it when it reopened as a pub with dining in 2026. Yet another pub has fallen into becoming a restaurant, although I fully appreciate the financial necessities. Just a shame for the village. It is part of a three site group and this more or less surpasses the Plough in Kingham and almost as good as the Crown in Enstone. However, not that much between them… Smallish menu with which I have no gripe at all as the expertise of the chef is concentrated and, here, he is excellent. The seafood was sublime for an area lacking in enough decent fish and shell fish on menus. The front of house were more than capable, efficient and almost invisible which is a mark of professio...
This pub/restaurant is truly captivating. As soon as we entered, we were greeted warmly by the front of house staff and shown to our table. The ambiance of the pub is inviting and relaxed. The tables are spaced out nicely, allowing for private conversations. The menu is extensive and easy to navigate. The homemade bread served with the starter was delicious, and the cod dish that followed was exceptional. We have dined here before as we are local to the area, but this time the chef and his team truly outdid themselves. I was so impressed that I felt compelled to write this review!
My dining experience at this charming pub was delightful. We enjoyed our meal on their picturesque outdoor terrace, where we ordered the Scotch Egg, Caesar salad, and schnitzel chicken paired with wine and beer - all of which were incredibly delicious. The atmosphere was lovely, the service was top-notch, and the food was exceptional. We were thrilled to have stumbled upon this warm and inviting pub. The quality of the food was excellent and the prices were very reasonable, making it a fantastic value overall.
One of our local pubs. Sadly our visit this week highlighted that meal portion sizes have reduced significantly. Whilst the food was tasty we all popped into the CoOp on the way home to by pizzas! Sadly for the prices charged we will go elsewhere until the meals are are better value for money :

We had a wonderful experience at The Hare. Our hosts recommended this restaurant to our family of five, including children aged 12, 9, and 6, and we were not disappointed. The staff was friendly and cheerful, the atmosphere was cozy, and the food was excellent.
6pm table booking, Saturday evening and a perfect start to the evening. Menu was excellent (see photos), great range, varied options and prices. Difficult to beat Scotch Egg starter. Chicken for main was excellent and their salads are delicious
A really good spot with excellent menu items. I went for the Caesar salad and was a little disappointed there was no chicken! We experienced excellent service and my partner and I really enjoyed our meal! Thank you!
Food can be inconsistent, had good and bad meals. Choose steak on the last visit which was good. Great light snacks. Had a pint of prawns before which were still frozen but didn’t put us off.

Visited here for dinner while staying at Stow. The crevettes were amazing and have never tasted this dish so good before. A really great fish meal and well worth the trip from Stow.
Absolutely stunning pub with delicious food and a great atmosphere. My husband and I visited whilst on holiday in the Cotswolds and it was perfect.
