I have never met such a rude and horrible man, as the one who is the owner of this establishment! Rang to book a meal, earlier, for tomorrow, his attitude stunk!! I asked for a table for two to be reserved, but if I got back to him, asap, could i change it to four, as I was awaiting for a reply from friends, as to whether they could attend or not! His attitude was don 't mess me about! do you want a table for two or for four? it 's Father 's Day! I couldn 't believe his attitude! The Moorings is my favourite local restaurant. The food is traditional, all homemade and of a very high quality. I had vegetable lasagne with chips and salad and a tiramisu afterwards. The service is so welcoming and it is very relaxing to sit outside and look at the canal and the swans. It is an ideal place to just drop in for lunch or to book a special evening meal. Called in for coffee after a long, wet, muddy walk and received a warm welcome in spite of our bedraggled state. Good teas/ coffees served piping hot, the coffees in lovely big cups. Great spot overlooking the marina and very handy if you want to visit Anderton Boat Lift, or take any of the extensive walks around the country park and into Marbury or on to the Flashes. Lunch and Dinner menus looked very appetising.
What a wonderful find purely by chance! From the friendly lady on the phone booking a table to the charming gentleman taking our orders. The liver was so tasty, ham salad was one of the best we have ever had (variety of flavours and textures) and the cappuccino mousse was out of this world both to look at and eat. The views over the canal was delightful. We are looking forward to visiting again.

We arrived for a Sunday dinner without a reservation and were warmly welcomed. The meal was delicious and generous, with a great variety of desserts. We decided to try a dessert, and it did not disappoint—it was delightful! The service was warm, courteous, and friendly. Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience at a reasonable price.
We arrived late, but the staff remained calm and treated us well. The owner was lovely, and the food was incredibly fresh with wonderful flavors. The chips were some of the best we've had in a long time!

The restaurant has a stunning atmosphere, complete with a lovely view of the boats on the water. The owners are incredibly friendly, and the food is outstanding. I had a wonderful time!
