The Mountain Grill

All around solid meal, yet nothing that wowed us. We visited The Mountain Bar Grill on a Thursday evening around 5:00. We were seated immediately and our server was responsive and helpful. The staff were the best part of the dining experience. They would receive a 5 star review. We ordered the sampler appetizer platter and two side salads with ranch. The portions were huge and the prices were reasonable. My husband and I both agreed that there was nothing we didn't like, yet there was nothing that would make us desire to choose this restaurant over others on a return visit. Hands down the best spinach artichoke dip I've ever had and I've had a lot! It's my favorite appetizer, and I sometimes make a meal out of it. The little naan breads have parmesan toasted on top it was so good! I did not get our server's name, but she was fantastic! I wanted a beer, but I know nothing about beer, so she brought me a couple samples before ordering. The burger was good we got an original with cheese and bacon. I always order hamburger well done, but I wish I had gotten it medium well it's my fault it was a little dry. The bacon was fantastic and the cheese was on there generously! I could do with less dead animals on the walls, but it is a sports bar. Can't wait to go back!

This is likely the BEST restaurant we've visited in this era of short staffing and poor service. The service and staff are outstanding! Everyone is incredibly friendly, making you feel like you're the only customer in the restaurant. We went on a busy Friday but were seated immediately (we arrived before 6). The food is excellent! I had chicken Alfredo, while my husband enjoyed a deep dish pizza and we also ordered cheesy bread as an appetizer. I really wish this place was closer to home because we would probably come here every week, but unfortunately, we were just passing through.

I had a pleasant experience at a restaurant in Black River. The server was friendly and attentive, taking our drink order within moments of being seated. We tried the shrimp fajitas, perch dinner, and St. Andrew's cod dinner. While both the perch and fajitas were excellent, the batter on the cod was too thick and undercooked, resulting in some doughy sections. The fish itself was flavorful, but I would recommend a lighter batter. My first trip back to The Mountain since the new owners took over. The new, 2-page menu includes food worthy to be called a meal (not a long list of overpriced bar food) and still boasts a full page for their wonderful pizzas. The Bang, Bang Shrimp Tacos were fantastic! It's gonna be hard to break away from these to try anything new from the menu. Service was great. I've always had good service here. Today, our server was excellent! I'm a big fan of the chalet motif, especially if there are stuffed animals on the walls.

Okay so I went back to The Mountain with my husband last Sunday... The building was refreshingly cool during the horrid heat wave. We needed cold drinks, awesome food and an amazing Server. The Mountain didn't let us down! It never has. I don't know of another establishment that has all three of my needs.... You have to check this place out! Ask for Carrie's section, tell her that I sent you and you will not be disappointed. *SIDE NOTE* Their French Fries are amazing!

Like a hidden pearl in rural area, I came visit my father in law and pass by this place couple times and decide give it a try. I like the atmosphere inside and would highly recommend the pizza with lettuce sry cannot remember the name. We order several dishes and my family like them all. Good service too:

We started by sharing the fried pickle chips, which were delicious. I ordered the chicken fajitas and also tried the rattlesnake mac and cheese, which I was tempted to order for myself. This deep-dish pizza is truly outstanding and would make anyone from Michigan proud. The caramelized cheese is perfect, the cheese blend is delicious, and the cupped pepperonis add to its excellence. The Two Hearted IPA was also fantastic and reasonably priced.

First time visiting Michigan's eastern coast and this is the best sports bar in the area. Great atmosphere and very generous portions.
