I called the restaurant on a Saturday to inquire if children were allowed, and they even advertise themselves as being kid-friendly. The first employee I spoke with confirmed that kids were welcome but didn’t mention that there’s a 10 PM cutoff. Since we were traveling quite a distance to visit, I decided to call again to double-check. This time, a male employee was very rude, insisting that no kids were allowed. I explained that I had spoken to someone earlier who said it was fine. He tried to justify it by saying that it’s a bar, even though it’s advertised as a café/bakery. A group of 7 of us went here on a Saturday night at 6:30. Although we did not have a reservation there was ample seating available and we chose a high table on the heated patio. We ordered apps to share, the Avocado rolls, sliders and fried pickles; both items were hot, Delicious and came out quickly. We had excellent service all night and I'm sorry I can't remember our servers name. Later in the evening our party grew and the service did not suffer for it at all. Karaoke from 6-9:30 on Tuesdays! They have happy hour specials and taco Tuesday specials...What a perfect combination of live musical entertainment delicious deals! I know I can't pass that up. The locals make the place come alive. The wait staff and bartender are friendly. The bathroom is clean. There's a outdoor patio for some fresh air. There's a connecting bakery and you can bring the items from there and put it on your tab. This local gem is where I'd go for a yummy and fun Tuesday night! How about you?

If you find yourself in the Villa Park area and are in the mood for delicious baked goods, this is the spot for you. It's also a great place for breakfast and appetizers, though I haven't tried dinner here yet. The staff is consistently friendly, and the food is excellent. If you're watching your weight, I recommend avoiding the bakery counter, as the pastries are incredibly tempting and freshly made. The cakes are a true visual delight. We waited over 45 minutes for our food. It was on a Wednesday night so it wasn't busy. The drinks flowed; however, the food took way too long. My kids were hangry and definitely antsy. Wished we loved this place as it is in the neighborhood but most likely will not be returning for dining service and maybe only for drinks.
