Bit of an odd one here. Food, drinks and service all good. Then disco time starts and shortly after we are required (and not in a particularly polite manner) to transfer all drinks to plastic glasses. Not even proper solid ones but the squeezable types. This before 10pm. This for everyone including those sat well away from the impromptu dancefloor. I realise this might be part of licence conditions but rather bizarre nevertheless. Also male toilets in a bit of a state. OTOH fish and chips are good !
While intending to enjoy rugby and have a drink at the pub on Saturday, 16/03, the experience was marred by the manager's frequent visits to a nearby table, where they engaged in conversation with a group of ladies and distributed complimentary drinks to each of them, resulting in increased noise levels. Food was unavailable during our visit understandably due to the hours we visited. However, it's worth noting that the staff member who served us was friendly.
I made a booking for 20 ppl for a leaving do, i didnt know we would get our own room with its our bar and bar staff it was a really nice suprise. Lorna was wonderful, 10/10 for Lorna as well as everything else. The food was delicious everyone enjoyed. Thank you for having us
We love the Pump House as they are always friendly and welcoming, and with great food. We booked a table in advance and were given the one with the best position in the window despite being only 2 people and table big enough for 4. The pies were amazing, as always.

I went to pub to have Sundays roast. What a mistake that was. Nut roast was soggy and undercooked. When I mentioned to the staff I got their poor sorry replay. What a disappointment! Avoid this pub for sunday meal.
Beautiful atmosphere, very lively, loved it. Will eat there next time I go as it all looked delicious but I had dinner plans

Totally ok food. Very nice PUB in central Brighton. Has a good selection of beers. Ok prices.
