The restaurant is situated in the Kimpton Hotel, and the decor and atmosphere are truly stunning. It’s a beautiful old building that adds a sense of history to the experience. The dining is tapas-style, with 3-4 dishes per order, and both the food and drinks were delicious. Service was a bit slow, likely due to the restaurant being quite busy, but this didn’t detract from the experience, as the space is very spacious. I can't wait to return and try their Sunday roast!
Refuge is a lovely venue and we have been coming here for a Sunday roast for a long time! However, they recently seem to have stripped back the roast which is disappointing. You no longer get 3 meats or the vimto red cabbage as standard. The plate was full of roast potato and carrots, which we love but variety was missed. Still a lovely roast but disappointing compared to what it used to be. We also received our food before our drinks which is not ideal.
beautiful environment - although for us (over 60s) the music from the bar was initially quite loud. however, eating and service were both excellent. our waitress asked if it was a special occasion (it was) and brought a sprcial dessert to celebrate. total super n8ght and big vaue for money
beautiful restaurant. large tasting eating loved the amount of vegan options. service was good, but they seemed short workers both in the restaurant and bar waited a long time in both areas to order drinks and pay the bill etc. but the staff was really friendly Reserva una mesa ahora
From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed and looked after. We were suggested drinks, which were great and veggie and vegan options were ample. The food was delicious every bite was full of complex and complementary flavours. And the building is beautiful.
now, if they are looking for a fabulous Sunday roast with a beautiful atmosphere and space, then fleeing her place! absolutely stunning! will be definitiw back x
