If you find yourself traveling through West Central Minnesota, just off US Highway 10, make sure to stop by the town of Little Falls, the boyhood home of Charles Lindbergh. Here, you'll discover a charming little restaurant called The Royal Cafe. Although it's small, it packs a big punch when it comes to flavor. Our server, who we think was the owner, was doing a fantastic job of managing the tables despite being short-staffed. The food was not only delicious but also very satisfying. With my wife having a gluten allergy, she was happy to see that there were plenty of options for her, and the staff took great care of us. This place is a MUST-VISIT if you're in the area!
Sundays are when a restaurant shows its true colors. Does it break under the pressure of the after church crowd?Well, Royal Cafe cracked. The buffet looked picked over, the two front of house employees were running around like a kid 's spinning top, while the kitchen staff tossed them unfriendly barks.Paying was not accompanied by a how was your meal but rather a complaint about how slow the credit card reader was.Maybe they were short staffed.
This place is definitely a local favorite. We noticed a table nearby with five older gentlemen who arrived one by one; it seemed that only two of them placed orders, while the other three simply sat down and, within minutes, were served their usual dishes. The food was tasty and ample.
We had a food truck scheduled for an employee lunch that cancelled at 8:00 am the morning of. We called the Royal and they were willing and able to make 130 box lunches for us in under 3 hours! The employees loved it! Thank you so much!
