I am new to Texas and decided to try another seafood restaurant after being disappointed by the first one. Unfortunately, this restaurant was also a letdown despite having good reviews. I ordered a shrimp and catfish combo with a side of shrimp and crab gumbo. The smell of the gumbo immediately turned me off and confirmed my suspicions about its taste - which was terrible. The broth was diluted, lacked seasoning, and had a unpleasant seafood flavor. I couldn't bring myself to eat the gumbo, shrimp, fish, or fries as they did not meet my expectations from what I am used to in California. The food at The Schooner was excellent, and the wait staff was very attentive. I ordered off the lunch menu and was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion sizes and the quality of the dishes. I will definitely be returning to The Schooner in the future and highly recommend it to others. The service and food both received a perfect 5-star rating. I recommend trying the House Salad, Salad, Seafood, and Red Snapper. The price per person ranges from $10 to $20 for lunch.
The Schooner Restaurant in Nederland is one of the oldest seafood restaurants that is still considered one of the best. I recently dined there with a friend and had a fantastic experience.

We're here a lot. You always have delicious food and good service. Operation clean. Servers always gave us a great service. Food portions and cheesecake are large.
