This place is fantastic! However if you don 't like trains, or the noise of trains, think carefully if you intend to stay over, after all you are right next to the 'East Coast Mainline ' from York to the North, and the trains run 24hrs. The staff, the food, the ambience and the overall feel of 'The Sidings ' is amazing. I have never met such friendly, passionate and wonderful people before. You can tell they really love this place. I opted to stay for 2 nights, but I enjoyed the experience so much I extended it to 3 nights. These guys really do go out of their way to make you feel welcome and valued. What a lovely place in York, you can sit and enjoy a delicious meal in one of their train carriages and watch all the different trains go past. The food is excellent and the service is great. If you are looking for a unique experience, this place is highly recommended.
Had such a wonderful time at The Sidings Hotel. The staff were amazing, the room was beautiful and the food was excellent. If you enjoy trains and great food this is a must. I definitely will be back to stay here again.
We have been here a few times and every time the food is incredible. The train carriages are really quirky and make you feel like you are travelling on the Northern Belle. Great staff would recommend to everyone.

It’s been over 20years since we last visited the Siding. It was like stepping back in time. Although it now has different owners we received the same warm welcome and helpful staff which was lovely.
Open table let me book a table for 20:45. On arrival was told the kitchen closed at 20:00. Thanks very much.
