The Swan At Whittington

Four of us went for a meal. Food was ok although the banoffee pie wasn't anything special. Service was also ok. My issue is with the 15% service charge stuck on the bill that I did not spot until I got home. I went to the bar to ask for the bill as they didn't bring it when we asked the waiting staff. I was handed it and the young male then immediately asked me if it was ok and handed me the card machine to pay. That felt very pressured and I did not get to study the bill properly. Only when I got home did I see the ridiculous 15% service charge that had been added to our meal, adding nearly £17 to the bill. Why have started charging that much as a service charge percentage. To us that's way too much. I would rather it was scrapped and the people eating at your premises can make the choice on what tip to leave. None of us will be back due to this charge. Others beware and check your bill carefully!!

Our table wasn’t ready for us, despite it being quiet. We were a small group of friends and we all felt that our experience wasn’t what is has usually been like in the past at this restaurant. The service was very slow and the food was ok, whereas previously it’s been very good. We waited a long time for the dessert menu before going to ask for this ourselves. We waited a long time for the bill so ended up going to the bar. The banoffee pie is not a pie. It’s a biscuit base with one small slice of banana.

We arrived for our hooking and waited 15 minutes to be asked for drinks. We then waited a further 15 minutes to receive our drinks. Food was good, a standard pub dinner. However, what annoyed our group the most was after spending over £300 at the pub, we were told we would need to finish our drinks, which we had just received in 5 minutes as they were closing. Poor service but still payed £30 service charge… wish we hadn’t.

Been there 5years ago come back today,nothing change quality of the door very poor,beer Run out shocking,steak should be medium rare and is rare ,2 people Run the pub nobody Ask us how is the food etc ,nobody even clean the table worst pub in Worcester, i will never comeback again shocking,dirty,quality of food very very poor

Very poor value for money. Have been here before, however on this occasion food was sorely lacking! Very disappointing. Will not be returning.
