We tried this place because we wanted a good burger and had heard this place was good. We were highly disappointed. The burgers were impressive to look at but lacking any flavour. The topping were ok but the burger was not made of chuck not seasoned at all and overcooked with little to no juiciness left to it. And for fries, just ok. The ambience at the place was depressed as it was mostly an older crowd, with no music playing. I would have been happier to go to Five Guys, or M'Coys in Oshawa. Or for the price, spend it on gas and go to The Burger Priest or Parts and Labour in Toronto. The price for two burgers and fries (one sweet potato) and one beer was $43. Score tip. This amazing little spot was a very pleasant surprise on a Sunday afternoon! I was doing a random search for brew pubs in the Durham region ( there currently arent any) and this place popped up in my search. It wasn't exactly what we were after but it certainly was worth the drive to Whitby! The service was great and the food was fantastic! Amazing appetizer of pork tenders, brilliant burgers, a tasty beet salad and house made cheesecake to die for. We were in the mood for local craft beer and their beer selection didn't disappoint. I have recently discovered this lovely little downtown Whitby gem. The atmosphere is so cool, an old bank turned into a restaurant. They even have two private dining rooms that used to be the bank vaults. The floors have been finished with embedded pennies. The food is creative, fresh and delicious. My personal favourite is the Turkey Burger, it is so moist and flavourful. I've had it several times, some with fries, some with salad. Both great options. Their weekly burger specials are always very creative, pairing unusual toppings to make unique flavours.My kids love their fish and chips and wings.Their craft beer selection makes every meal an adventure. I can't wait to go back!

We stopped overnight in Whitby on a sailing trip. Our search for a local eatery landed us at the Vault after looking at Trip Advisor reviews. It was excellent.The owner, Simon, was working and he could not have been more welcoming. He included a quick tour of the two bank vaults with seating areas that lend their name to the bistro. Simon was witty, engaging, and very helpful with the menu, despite being quite busy (thankfully we booked ahead).All of our meals were very well done and very fairly priced. This place was on my list of local restaurants that I wanted to give a try. It was a Monday and we had no trouble getting a table around 6:30pm. There are some interesting items on the menu, like their appetizer, 'melted Brie turkey balls', but it is a limited menu. They have a feature burger that changes on Thursdays and sounded delicious, however, we decided to try the lobster and crab mac & cheese and herb tempura battered fish and chips. Portions are not large, so we were both able to finish our entrées, which is rare for me. Both were ok.

The name is cool but they think they're making sophisticated and fancy dishes and they don't!! Scary thing is that they probably have no idea that their young cooks back there are just following recipes thinking that they're fancy to justify a high price. Seriously? Nice atmosphere and location though. One example is that a curry dish I ordered is OUT OF A CAN! I made the exact same dish at home a day before and mine actually tasted exactly the same. C'mon folks get a consultant.

Stopped in because I heard the burgers were amazing and was not disappointed. The owner is very friendly and spent a lot of time telling us about the food and wine. It's a cool little place with two private rooms in the back you can reserve for an intimate dinner for two or a larger party of six. The food was superb, with generous portions. I was stuffed! Definitely going back again.

Been here for lunch a couple times now.Food is delicious and very beautifully presented on the plate which I like.Prices are on part with other pubs/restaurants.This place looks really cool inside and the vault room in the back with the floor made of pennies is so cool!!!I would go back again. We stopped here for lunch and we're not disappointed. We split the club house and the Ontario roasted beet salad with roquette and goat cheese. We enjoyed everything, the beet salad was delicious. Highly recommend The Vault

My first visit to the Vault. The food is excellent, a great atmosphere and very friendly staff. I will definitely be back.
