This time the ratings of Tripadvisor mislead us. Service and style of the place were actually pretty cool. The menu short, which is often a good indiaction and with the previous ratings our expectations were for a nice and lovely lunch. The disappointment was significant. The meat in the burgers could have been anything. The checken wings were hard to eat, the sauce reminded me of cheap supermarket stuf. The fries nothing to write home about. Something else i did not fully understand were the two ladies which were half asleep at the back of the restaurant. Were they part of the team? This is my local pub and since the reno last year, I now pop in occasionally for a drink or two however had never eaten here until last night. Love the vibe with the open gas heater and dim lighting. However the dim lighting was of little value when I noticed halfway through my parma it was uncooked in the middle! Although they have lovely staff, there was no offer for the food to be compensated, only the option of another glass of wine. Left feeling disappointed (and if I am honest, a bit sick in the stomach). Such a shame, this place has so much potential.
We were staying at a hotel down the road and with limited phone battery we walked past the ale house and on a whim popped in. I liked the warm decor, which alrhough not cosy was still pleasant. The beer selection while not the most impressive was still good and catered well. We had the baramundi and chicken burger. My friends baramundi was good by all accounts but this is my review and I had the chicken burger which is genuinely one if the best I've ever had. Thoroughly recommend that. Will happily return when next in the area
Ate here with my partner, I ordered the mac and cheese, he ordered a burger. Both meals were really nice and large portion sizes which was great. Amazing value for money as we had the backpackers menu. We also stayed for the trivia night which was a lot of fun and had a really good atmosphere. We will definitely be coming back here again.

My friends and I have eaten here a good few times now and we have always had a great meal! The staff are really friendly, especially a very quirky Scottish man!My favourite by a long shot is the chicken burger , the pork sliders are also yum!We have started going to the open mic night on Wed. and that is great fun!Good pub
We had just arrived in Melbourne to stay with family and popped over to the Windsor for a quick meal. We had a few tasters, sliders, pork belly, salt chillii squid salad and chips, all hit the spot very well! Service quick and friendly. Very impressive!
Me and my boyfriend were new to the area. We have used this bar as a local since our arrival. Excellent food and beer. Friendly and good staff. Has entertainment most evenings. I must visit pub. Highly recommend :)
Fantastic feed wife and I had the chicken parma and was the best we have had. Also has a great beer tap list with good craft beer. Will be going back here when next time in Melbourne.

Lived here for around 6 weeks and loved the place! Staff are very helpful and friendly. Pub below is great for food and entertainment. Would come back any day!
