The Woodroffe Arms

A great location if you're hiking from hope and a traditional British pub. However that's as good as it gets from me for this place. We booked to stay here on Air B&B for a night over the Easter weekend (2022) for the latter point. The booking confirmation came through and the payment was taken two nights before. We went to check in around 17:00 and they had sold our room to someone else! They had no rooms left and so we had to quickly book elsewhere. Luckily we managed to book somewhere in Buxton (20 min drive).That's beyond unacceptable management and poor at best! Thankfully we were able to find somewhere over the busy Easter weekend. Despite arriving an hour after the carvery began, the food was cold. The service was not as friendly as indicated by the sign outside. The price per person is £10-20. The food is rated 2 out of 5, service 3 out of 5, and atmosphere 3 out of 5.

After a long walk, we stopped by this restaurant for a couple of beers. The staff was friendly and the beer was delicious. They even allowed dogs, making it a great spot for pet owners.

This is a welcoming pub that caters to locals, offering friendly service and a dog-friendly atmosphere. I had an enjoyable evening watching live football and would gladly return again.
