Chips etc cooked in same fryer as gluten containing meals. Plentiful GF options but the chicken burger I got was tough, the chips were soft, and both truly disappointing. The fish and chips came with unbattered fish and the fish itself was much smaller than a non-GF portion for the same price. A lot of not great options but the staff were very pleasant and the prices were a little high for what we got but cheaper than others in the area.
I stayed two nights at Tongadale hotel during my Isle of Skye tour with Timberbush Tours Ltd. The hotel stay was great. My room on the third floor had a fantastic view of the Cuillin Mountains and the waters. The staff were so friendly and helpful.The room was super clean and comfy-felt like home. Next time I visit Portree, I will stay at Tongadale again. Highly recommended.
Let's start with the positive. We were able to get a table without a reservation (which is nearly impossible in Portree). Service was super fast and very friendly. The food was truly just ok, little to no seasoning. I had the Cullen Skink, it seemed a little thin, but it was good. Veggies need salt and pepper. Food was fresh, but bland.
The bar was great! Chatted with some great people that were bellied up to the bar. We are from the U.S. and they made us feel right at home. A couple of locals explained the ship compass that is near the bar. Had a great time! Reserva una mesa ahora
Delicious grilled goat cheese salad and a yummy soup of the day(tomato)for the main course. It was served with a gluten free bun. No problems with meal-educated staff.
This is a very friendly and welcoming pub that serves delicious food and drinks. They made a big fuss over our dog, and now he pulls to go back every time we walk by!
I always receive a warm welcome at the Tongadale Hotel. The food is excellent, the beer is great, and the atmosphere is beautiful.

The famous Tongadale in Portree is truly the best pub in the world. It's always a pleasure to visit!
