This isn't top of the line Thai food like we've had in Hawaii, where they grew the pineapple and some other ingredients fresh. However, for a family restaurant, the food is pretty darn good, and amazingly inexpensive for the Bay area. The staff is quite friendly, knowledgable about what is in the food, and quite willing to work with vegans to veganize non-vegan dishes. From the vegetarian menu we had Vegetables Yellow Curry Peanut Sauce Tofu (spinach, broccoli and tofu with peanut sauce), and Vegetarian Pad Thai (they left out the eggs for us). All were delicious. I will definitely return for the delicious coconut lemongrass soup, Tom Kha with shrimp at Top Thai. I have tried many places in Hayward and Castro Valley but none compare to the flavorful soup at Top Thai. The Pad See Ew was also absolutely delicious, with soft chewy noodles and amazing sauce. However, the Pumpkin Curry was disappointing as it was too thin and the pumpkin was undercooked and not ripe enough. The portion size was small and the chicken was tough. I would recommend avoiding the chicken and opting for shrimp or beef instead. Overall, the atmosphere was great and the staff were sweet. It seems like they may have had an off day with the Pumpkin Curry.
This is our go-to Thai spot in Castro Valley. The food is delicious every time and they have lots of gluten free options for my wife. The staff is friendly and we usually call ahead to order take out and eat it at home. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and usually there are seats open. Our favorite dishes include pumpkin curry, pad Thai and pad see ew. I appreciate that the menu is clearly labeled with which items can be made gluten free and the staff is also knowledgeable about this. Parking is limited so try around the corner in the neighborhood if there isn't a spot out front. Enjoy!
eaten there twice, with omnivores. They have an impressive array of Veg Vegan choices. Everything I had was delicious, particularly the Tom Kha soup, and the fried sweet potato appetizer. There peanut sauce is the bomb'. The actual restaurant was really buzzing, lots of young people and families, which gave it a very pleasant atmosphere.

Our favorite restaurant in the bay. They go out of their way to provide the best service even when they're slammed and everything we've tried on the menu during our two dozen visits has been phenomenal. I recommended Top Thai to all my family and friends in the area. Love this spot!
Can't complain about the food quality for this price range. The only headache for this restaurant is the parking. Parking is horrible during peak dinner rhr.
Good place but authentic Thai taste is toned down for American palate. Very warm and welcoming staff !
