Lovely food, went twice in a week. Second time service was abysmal. One table of 6 got literally all the attention from the only waiter for 45 mins while we tried in vain to order some cheese and drink the remainder of our good but overpriced wine. Should have walked out, but thought the owner, who mysteriously disappeared for 30 mins should know.When he returned he too ignored us and spoke to a couple paying their bill for another 10 mins. At that point my guests had had enough and walked over to complain loudly but calmly.. Apologies all round, but an evening ruined.Shame, great food. One more thing, wine prices are absolutely outrageous. Cheapest red is an undrinkable one at $50, high $60...
A friend and I had the most wonderful lunch at Tu. Fresh food, delicious flavours, well seasoned dishes - it ticked all our boxes. The standout for me was the creamy baby calamari with garlic crumble, marinated yolk and prosciutto - cooked to perfection and I would go back again just to eat this dish! The wait staff were amazing, attentive but not intrusive, and really made our day. Do yourself a favour and add this to your list if you're in Melbourne and after a real French meal. You won't be disappointed.
Tu is perfect for a quiet dinner with friends or romantic interlude. The service is quiet and unassuming, wine prices reasonable and with the food as one expects for good honest french dining. Serving a delicious amuse bouche we were tempted by the daily menu but opted for the classic french Boeuf bourguignon, It was perfect. Highly recommend as a place where you can enjoy a conversation with good wine and french dining.
Such a friendly, delicious restaurant. The large platter of sheer deliciousness was incredible. Beautiful meats, cheeses, figs and special pate. The photo does not do the food justice but that is because it was so delicious the platter was consumed before we knew it. Another place that should be in a book entitled" Intimate bars/restaurants to go before you die". I'll be back with more friends.

Cosy winters night in Melbourne. With my husband who is French and brother.Bonsoir was our warm welcome. Owner a humble nice man explained the menu, wine list and spoke some French with my husband. Service great, venue modern and gorgeous and as my title said best duck ever!! Well priced for the quality of food, highly recommend to people who want a great French night out.
Visited Tu restaurant on Saturday with friends, and we had a wonderful night.Food was amazing, the share platter with the 1000 day aged cheese and the French bread was excellent.We all had entree's , mains and desserts and walked out very satisfied.The staff also make you feel at home.Will be definitely coming back.
We had a very pleasant lunch here. A small restauraunt with outdoor seating and a lovely atmosphere. The French waitress was attentive and informative about the dishes; if she wasn't sure about specific allergies, she found out from the chef. The food was very good and in particular an amazing calamari entree.
We had a terrific meal here on our recent trip to Melbourne. The restaurant has a very nice back garden where we were seated. The dinner was innovative French and we enjoyed everything--including a visit with the Chef!
